Archived Announcement 4/3/2006

  • Hi folks,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I don't think I'll ever get used to going to work during that time! Please read the announcement below regarding the new service for EBSCO results within Search Engines. I'd love to hear from you if you run into this function as I've been unable to create a search that utilized it thus far. Thanks! Enjoy.

    Dear EBSCO Customer,

We are pleased to announce that EBSCOhost Connection (http://connection.epnet.com/), which your Customer Account Specialist recently discussed with you, is now live. Please note that, due to the required web crawling process, it will take a few weeks for content to appear in Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and ASK result lists.

EBSCOhost Connection is designed to bridge the gap between commercial search engines (such as Google, Yahoo or MSN), and the accredited content offered via EBSCOhost. EBSCOhost Connection promotes libraries' EBSCOhost content by infusing commercial search engine result lists with brief, citation-only records from EBSCOhost databases. For more information about EBSCOhost Connection, see this FAQ: http://support.epnet.com/knowledge_base/detail.php?id=2716

By directing users to EBSCOhost content, EBSCOhost Connection will help researchers find quality information on the Internet. This optional service is free to all EBSCOhost database customers.

If you should need to update your participation status in EBSCOhost Connection, these setup instructions can also be used to opt out of the service, if desired: http://support.epnet.com/knowledge_base/detail.php?id=2717.

Visit EBSCO's Support site (http://support.epnet.com/) often, for information on this and other EBSCO products. You can access the EBSCOhost Connection Help Sheet here: http://support.epnet.com/knowledge_base/detail.php?id=2744. If you need assistance, you can communicate via email with our Technical Support staff anytime, via the E-mail Support link along the top toolbar.

    Best regards,

    EBSCO Publishing Customer Satisfaction Department
